After its comeback in 2024, the 2025 show in New York City proved that VS is fully committed to its fresh, inclusive chapter. Forget everything you thought you knew about the brand—this new era is all about embracing diverse style, empowering women, and delivering a spectacle that’s pure fashion fantasy.
This was no mere lingerie show; this was the full entertainment extravaganza. The energy was electric, the designs were beautiful, and the models exuded a new level of confidence on the runway.
What was amazing, though, was the cast. We had OG Angels (Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel) resurface alongside a batch of new faces that all, in their own ways, mark the brand’s journey to true inclusivity. There were major moments — WNBA star Angel Reese made history as the first professional athlete to walk!) to Neelam Gill, who looked every inch the supermodel in a chic pink look for her second look of the day. Something about seeing this spectrum of women on the world’s biggest stage? That’s the fashion moment we are here for.
The garments themselves were a hybrid of traditional VS glamour and modern style. We’re not just talking show-stopping wings, intricate beading and of course a tonne of lingerie sets that make you want to sprint to the nearest Victoria Secret near me (or just order online, let’s be real).
Certainly, some of the internet has noticed certain styles crossing the line from whimsy to-too-much-with-a-few-‘oops’ moments here and there, not to mention wilder wings — yes there were a few — but my sense is that, on the whole, it came off as bold vs. boring and fun instead of stifling. Picture six amazing instalments, from ‘’First Light’ to ‘Black Tie,’ each exploring a different theme. And for those in search of some affordable inspo, there was certainly pieces that were serving major runway vibes, perhaps even competing with a certain competitor… dare we call this Fashion Nova accessibility level trendiness.
No VS show is complete without epic performances, and this year was no exception. Missy Elliott blew the roof off with an iconic medley, and Karol G, TWICE and Madison Beer supplied even more fuel to the monster-bash soundtrack. The entertainers were seamlessly placed amongst the models throughout the evening and helped generate a truly amazing party atmosphere.
The 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was more than a spectacle; it was a statement. It solidified the brand’s restoration to the top echelon of pop culture, not to mention its heady dusting-off of history. The emphasis is undoubtedly on the future where we’ll be celebrating all women: their strength, their beauty and of course, differences in style.
